    <p>In cooperative systems for multi-antenna techniques, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is essential to enhance the system capacity. For the transmission technique of MIMO systems, there is the combination of the space division multiplexing (SD) and the spatial modulation (SM), and the bit error rate (BER) performance is improved by using the channel ranking QR decomposition with M algorithm maximum likelihood detection (CR-QRM-MLD). And then, the transmission for the phase rotation SM on-off keying (PR-SM-OOK) and the rectangular SD-8QAM is also effective by using the CR-QRM-MLD with the simultaneous and separated searches. On the other hand, there are several assignments of the constellation for the 8QAM, but they are not evaluated in the SD-SM-MIMO. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the combination of the PR-SM-OOK and the rectangular, cross, octagonal SD-8QAMs for MIMO systems.</p>

    ABSTRACT

    In recent years, indoor localisation based on channel state information (CSI) fingerprint has been actively researched because of the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition, various deep learning (DL) methods such as deep neural networks (DNN) and convolutional neural networks (CNN) have been widely discussed for the indoor localisation. The CSI‐fingerprint can be produced by continuous and quantised values. For the CSI‐fingerprint using quantised values, good performance is achieved. However, since quantised data for the optimal level has not been sufficiently discussed, the best performance of quantisation is not indicated. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an effective quantised CSI‐fingerprint for DL‐based indoor localisation.

    In recent communication systems, access techniques are important to achieve massive connection systems. Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) is a kind of access techniques, and the subcarrier assignment of each user with the multiuser diversity (MUDiv) gain is enhanced for the channel capacity. Before now, the subcarrier assignment has been achieved by the convolutional neural networks (CNN). However, it is not indicated except the learning result. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the subcarrier resource assignment based on the deep neural networks (DNN) for MUDiv/OFDMA systems.

    In recent years, the indoor positioning solution market has been expanding, and there is a growing demand for indoor positioning technologies. Consequently, various techniques for the indoor positioning are explored. Traditionally, received signal strength (RSS) is studied as a simple method. However, the positioning accuracy is deteriorated significantly due to the obstruction. To solve this problem, the elements of the channel state information (CSI) are utilized. Moreover, the improved performance is obtained by using the deep learning techniques such as the deep neural networks (DNN) and the convolutional neural networks (CNN). However, the optimality is not indicated in these methods. Therefore, in this study, we propose the effective CSI feature extraction and the deep learning based indoor positioning method.

    Internet of things (IoT) is a part of the concept for 5th generation (5G), and cooperative communications which utilize the relay node between the source and destination nodes are adopted. Cooperative communications can be obtained for the diversity gain by several channels, and the packet splitting transmission is improved for the diversity gain. Moreover, multi-hop cooperative communications are produced for several routes by connecting several relay nodes, but the packet splitting transmission is not evaluated. In this paper, we propose the route weight packet splitting transmission for multi-hop cooperative orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems.

    Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is widely utilized in current wireless communications. However, in OFDM systems, there is the problem of the phase noise (PN). PN is caused by the multiplication of the waves for the different carrier frequency. To solve this problem, we utilize the frequency symbol spreading (FSS) and the complex time frequency interferometry (CTFI) pilot signal. FSS is achieved by the Walsh Hadamard transform (WHT), and it is effective for the improvement of the PN. Also, CTFI is improved for the accuracy of the channel estimation (CE), but the problem of the PN is not evaluated for CTFI-OFDM systems. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the PN compensation with the time window averaging for WHT-CTFI-OFDM systems.

    In wireless communications, the signal is transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver via the channel. In International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the wireless channel model is standardized by the channel profile. However, since multipath environments consist of several waves, channel state information (CSI) is fluctuated at the frequency domain. To estimate the channel model from the CSI, we have proposed the identification method by the convolutional neural networks (CNN). However, it is not evaluated for the imperfect channel with additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN). Therefore, in this paper, we propose the identification method of the channel model based on the CNN considering AWGN.

    <p>A set consisting of <i>K</i> subsets of <i>M</i>sequences of length <i>L</i> is called a complementary sequence set expressed by <i>A</i>(<i>L</i>, <i>K</i>, <i>M</i>), if the sum of the out-of-phase aperiodic autocorrelation functions of the sequences within a subset and the sum of the cross-correlation functions between the corresponding sequences in any two subsets are zero at any phase shift. Suehiro et al. first proposed complementary set <i>A</i>(<i>N<sup>n</sup></i>, <i>N</i>, <i>N</i>) where <i>N</i> and <i>n</i> are positive integers greater than or equal to 2. Recently, several complementary sets related to Suehiro's construction, such as <i>N</i> being a power of a prime number, have been proposed. However, there is no discussion about their inclusion relation and properties of sequences. This paper rigorously formulates and investigates the (generalized) logic functions of the complementary sets by Suehiro et al. in order to understand its construction method and the properties of sequences. As a result, it is shown that there exists a case where the logic function is bent when <i>n</i> is even. This means that each series can be guaranteed to have pseudo-random properties to some extent. In other words, it means that the complementary set can be successfully applied to communication on fluctuating channels. The logic functions also allow simplification of sequence generators and their matched filters.</p>

    A set consisting of subsets of sequences is called as a complementary sequence sets, if the sum of autocorrelation functions of the sequences in a subset is zero except for the zero-shift, and the sum of the cross-correlation functions of the corresponding sequences in these two subsets is zero everywhere. This paper formulates and investigates the logic functions of the generalized polyphase complementary sequence sets of N subsets of N sequences of length N including biphase and quadriphase ones, which have been proposed by Suehiro.

    The quasi-synchronous direct sequence code division multiple access system can realize fast frame acquisition and interference-free performance if a shift orthogonal code is used as a spreading sequence set, and synchronization among users is quickly established within a permissible time interval. In this paper, we presents high-speed synchronization acquisition methods, which can be established by the correlation handling of one received data frame. They utilize one of the spreading sequences in the shift orthogonal code as a synchronization control sequence, and a matched filter bank that provides all the correlation functions between a received signal and any sequence. The effectiveness of the proposed methods, in which output is close to an impulse function, is shown by the synchronization error rate over the additive white Gaussian noise and Rayleigh fading channels.
