新しい酵素結合免疫測定法によると10pg/mlのヒト肝細胞増殖因子(HGF)の測定が可能である.本法によると不安定狭心症患者36例の血中HGFは296±184pg/mlで健康者250例の201±64pg/mlより有意に大であった(p<0.0001).不安定狭心症36例中12例では健康者の平均+2SD,即ち321pg/ml以上の高値であった

ラットフェチュインは骨基質から精製された59kDaのシアロ蛋白質で,ヒトα2-HS糖蛋白質及びウシフェチュインの分子ホモログである.本蛋白質を,45Ca標識した骨片からの45Caの遊離を指標にした骨吸収系に添加したところ,本蛋白質単独では何の効果もなかったが,低濃度の副甲状腺ホルモンにより誘導される骨吸収を用量依存的に促進した.この効果は,カテプシンLの阻害剤であるキモスタチンによって阻害された.I型コラーゲンを本蛋白質とプレインキュベーションすると,カテプシンLによるI型コラーゲンの分解が用量依存的に促進された
