    脾臓は血液の濾過と免疫応答に関与する器官であり、その血管構築は脾臓の機能を考える上できわめて重要である。しかし、脾臓の血管構築は動物種によって大きく異なることが知られており、ヒト脾臓の血管構築を解析するにはヒト脾臓そのものを観察する必要がある。これまでヒト脾臓を用いた多くの研究がなされており、最近の研究では特に白脾髄周囲の血管構築がかなり明らかになってきた。ヒト白脾髄では、脾小節の近傍を通過した中心動脈が、直接小節動脈を分岐することなく筆毛動脈を形成し、その一部が脾小節に戻ってくることで小節動脈となり、さらにその末端が辺縁帯に開放することが知られている。これに加えて我々は、他の中心動脈の枝が脾小節周囲に毛細血管網を形成し、辺縁帯に開放することを新たに明らかにした。本稿では、これらの新しい知見からヒト脾臓の血管構築について形態学的に解説するとともに、免疫細胞との関係や機能についても紹介する。(著者抄録)
